I drive an '03 GMC Sonoma SLS, 3-door, yellow, 4x4, with the 4.3L engine. I always have trouble selecting the exact model when looking for parts on websites, this gets me to thinking its a bit rare. Is there any way for me to find out how many were produced with this exact package? Anyone done anything similar with their vehicle?
Here it is for your viewing pleasure.

Nah, im just kidding, I have no idea. I had trouble finding anything about this though, and thats usually not too tough to find. I think the trouble is that it gets lumped with the S-10

Ya people rarely know its a Sonoma and not an S10, potato potatto. I feel like I could put my VIN in someplace but not sure where. I was hoping some other Oppos had done this before.

What are the last 6 of your vin, 7 actually, that tells you the plant and the production run. If said plant only produced sonoma's we could make a guesstimate based on the production serial.

I can't help you there, but I can give some related trivia that I've more-or-less pulled out of my ass.
I don't have nany reference for this, and it may no longer be the case, but I read somewhere that here in Canada, GM pickup truck sales were split roughly 50/50 between Chevrolet and GMC, due to the way our dealer network was set up*. In the U.S. Chevrolet pickups significantly outsold their GMC equivalents. So, per capita, GMC are much less common in the U.S. than in Canada. Of course, they have 10x the population, so the point is kinda moot.
* We used to have "blue" dealers and "red" dealers. "Blue" dealers sold one or more brands like Chev, Olds, Cadillac, and Geo.
"Red" dealers sold Pontiac, Buick, GMC, and Asuna.
One dealer couldn't sell the other's brand. There's even CMP Classic in Calgary that had a "red" side under one registered business name ( C lassic M otor P roducts), and a "blue" side under another (Classic Chevrolet), both under the same roof.
Now that so many brands have disappeared, GM Canada has abandoned the red/blue concept, with signs all black now.
I seem to have gotten off-track, what were we talking about again?

I take it you are from Calgary then, here in Lethbridge we still have one "blue" Dealership that sells all the GM brands as well as a Kia dealership under the same owner next door. But we also have a "black" dealership that sells 90% trucks. Who the hell can keep track of GM anymore.

I'm from Kamloops, but I did live in Calgary for a while. The two Kamloops dealers are still one Chev/Caddy and one GMC/Buick. And yeah, the Chevy dealer's owners have the Hyundai dealer next door, and the owner of the GMC dealer owns the Benz dealer beside it.

Good to see the bailout worked... Tough times at the dealerships.
